Don’t Miss Out on Micheal Jacob’s Mentoring Support
This is an exciting editorial I write today. Not that other editorials aren’t exciting, you understand. This editorial, though, means I get to announce our Micheal Jacob interview. Micheal has been supporting Writers’ Dock for quite some years – the former Head of BBC Comedy is now freelance and guides up and coming comedy writers here at the Dock! Micheal has been developing a new mentoring programme with the Dock’s Comedy Section Editor, Jade Cartier. This workshop programme is open to the new and aspirational and the more seasoned writer alike. You can check out Jade’s interview with Micheal in the interviews section (appropriately enough!)
Onwards, ever onwards! Your latest offerings of featured fiction:
Janet Bradshaw’s ‘savage fiction’ submission (this being a Dock forum area) is showcased in prose; Marilyn Francis’s poetry is selected for showcasing; Russ Jones’ poem is featured as the January poem of the month.
An overview of recent article content:
Jade Cartier interviews Micheal Jacob and draws our attention to the launch of the comedy writing mentoring workshop/competition; Dean Cody Cassady interviews 1001 book reviewer, Robin Stevens; Ida Jones considers the changing face of modern publication; Golden Langur offers up book reviews of work written by Andrea Levy (on British immigrants), Flann O’Brien (a strange and abstract ‘shaggy dog story’), Ian Mortimer’s Traveller’s Guide to Medieval England, and Mikhail Bulgakov’s surrealist vision set in Moscow; Golden Langur has been busy writing, also opening the debate on T. S. Eliot, regarding the poet’s anti-Semitism, and in asking the reader to consider the role of the poet/writer; William Meikle discusses the importance of the opening line; Nicola Morgan’s fifth in the series of writing tips is featured (regarding aspects considered to be poor writing).
Enjoy.
Peace be.
